National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering (16-22 May).
Volunteers play a critical role at the Department for Child Protection, supporting children and young people in care in a variety of ways, including transport to appointments, family contact and respite care.

The department currently has about 180 volunteers located across the state, but more are needed to ensure children and young people in care have the support they need to access important appointments, contact with their birth families and after school/recreational activities.
